It was a gorgeous, warm day here today so we put on the swimsuits and hooked the hose up to the "Crazy Daisy".

Aidyn loved it, but Nolan was a little apprehensive. He just needed a little help.

Chicago

OK, so it's time for me to brag about my super sweet husband. This past weekend he surprised me with a trip to Chicago! He had been planning it for months and had all the details taken care of. Lisa showed up on Thursday night to watch the kids for the weekend and we flew out right away Friday morning.
When we got to Chicago we went to The Chicago Museum of Science and Industry www.msichicago.org to see the Leonardo da Vinci exhibit they have on display there. It was so interesting.

We then went back to our hotel and got ready for the evening. We had dinner at a great Italian restaurant and then went to see The Da Vinci Code. The movie was really good and the theater was packed. Good thing Jeff had bought tickets in advance a few months ago!
On Saturday we did some shopping on Michigan Avenue (I could get used to that!) and then went up in the John Hancock building. Great views!

We left there and headed over to Navy Pier www.navypier.com. What a fun place!

After Navy Pier we went back to the hotel to get ready and headed out for dinner. There was a celebrity sighting at dinner!! Reggie Wells! Now I know some of won't know who he is so I'll fill you in...he's Oprah's make-up artist. Jeff didn't know who he was either, but I saw him sitting in a booth eating as we walked by. That's as close to Oprah as we came on our trip.
After dinner we walked to Millennium Park which was very cool.

Then we made our way to the Sears Tower www.thesearstower.com.

We were up in the observatory at night and the view was awesome. You could see lights forever!

By this time we were both shot and ready to pass out. I'm not sure how many miles we walked over the weekend, but it was definitely more than we're used to.
We headed home on Sunday morning to see our little sweetie pies. We had a great weekend. It was so much fun to get away and especially to be surprised! I love surprises! Jeff did a great job planning the whole thing. I am one lucky girl!

Wrestle Mania 2006

Aidyn & Nolan had a nice little wrestling match tonight. They always start out smiling, but one of them is usually mad by the time it's over.

Tonight it was Nolan...

Mesmerized at the dolphin show.

At the zoo...

I had a wonderful Mothers Day yesterday. First and foremost, I got to sleep in! When I got up the kids had a card and a beautiful necklace that they gave me. We went out for brunch at Perkins and then went to the zoo! We had lots of fun checking out the animals together. When we came home the kids took their naps and I went out for a coffee by myself. Jeff made dinner, gave the kids their baths and put them to bed. Ahhhhh, a little slice of heaven! It was a great day and I really enjoyed the time with my family.

One pretty girl, one pretty tree.

"Oh man, it's going to take me all day to mow this..."

Never underestimate how much fun it is sitting in a clothes basket!
