Pony Party

One of our neighbor kids had his birthday party tonight. It was a pony party which was a HUGE hit with all the kids! When the ponies arrived you would have thought Elvis was there. Both Aidyn & Nolan took turns riding and they really liked it.

My little cowboy, riding off into the sunset...(with his tongue sticking out).

Spring Projects

'Tis the seasons for outdoor projects. Along with the regular "spring things" like planting flowers, cursing at the new weeds coming up, dragging out all the outdoor toys, cleaning the siding (that's not a regular spring thing, but I did do that this year)...we added a couple special projects.
First, I put up new lights on the front of our house.

Then Jeff put up a new double swing on the swing set. The kids call it a twin swing and love it!

Finally, today we planted 23 trees along the back of our fence. They are American Arborvitae and they will grow up to form a hedge of sorts and give us a little more privacy in the backyard. (For those of you who have never been to our house...yes, we actually have a white picket fence. How Americana, I know!)

There are more projects to come...I just haven't told Jeff about them yet.

Minnesotan lawn mowing

Hummus man

Nolan got into my hummus the other day and did he go to town on that! I think he ate about 1/2 the container. Apparently the boy likes chickpeas.

Soccer star, Part 2

Here's Aidyn during her soccer game last night. She got to play goalie for a bit. She blocked one goal, but another slipped by her.

Here is some action video from the game. You can see Aidyn towards the right of the screen. She is playing with her yellow jersey the whole time. Notice how she really gets aggressive towards the middle of the video when she starts skipping. Watch out!!!

Some cute pictures...

Nolan wanted to be a "baseball player" today so he wore his little hat. Everything had to be fair in Aidyn's eyes so she picked out a hat to wear too. They were both happy, so away we went!
Here's Nolan eating breakfast this morning. Look at how he is balancing on his toes while he eats. My toes would break right off if I tried that.

Jeff reading a story to Nolan, Kya & Aidyn. We got to watch our friend Kya for a few hours the other day, it was sure fun to have her visit!

Ready for a roadtrip!

A big, big day!!

Today was a HUGE day at our house. Aidyn got a bike! Not just any bike, a fully tricked-out Barbie bike complete with backpack, water bottle, spoke decorations & streamers. She couldn't be more thrilled.

We rode around & around in the backyard a few times, but then she was itching to get out on the road (go down the cul-de-sac) to show off her new bike to her friends.

She did a great job riding it and the huge smile on her face was worth more than 100 Barbie bikes.

Such a sweet face...

Jumping Bean

Here is my little man going crazy in his crib. This is what he does when he wakes up from his nap. At least I know he's well rested!

Amen, Alleluiah, Praise the Lord!

Sanjaya has finally been voted off American Idol!!! I am still mad that Chris Daughtry didn't win last year (as we all know he should have!) But at least there is no shot for Sanjaya anymore. It took long enough though...I was starting to worry.

11.Have you ever seen a movie in a drive-in? If so, what? Nope, never been to a drive-in.

Soccer star

Aidyn had her first night of soccer tonight. It went pretty well. She only had to come sit by me twice after someone bumped into her. Hopefully next week she will actually run instead of just watching the other kids run by her.

It's funny how I worry about her not being very aggressive and I know in 2 years when Nolan is in this situation I will be facing the opposite dilemma.

Little Bloggers

I had to laugh today...out of the blue Aidyn said "Can we check some blogs mommy?" So she & Nolan sat at the kitchen counter and checked the blogs of everyone we know. It was really funny to listen to a 4 year old and a 2 year old talk about people's blogs. They knew how to enlarge the pictures, how to play videos (which meant we watched Campbelle sing about 12 times) and how to click on a link to get to a new blog. It is really amazing how quickly they learn...

Happy Easter!

We had a fun Easter weekend as Jeff's family came to town to celebrate Easter at our house. Our guests included Grandma Janice & Grandma Horace, Aunt Patsy, Aunt Donna & Uncle Craig and their son Brett and Aunt Betty & Uncle Curt.
The kids loved all the attention and new playmates. Plus they scored all sorts of Easter loot from everyone...what kid doesn't love that?!?!

The Easter Bunny even made it to our house but decided to hide eggs inside since it was a bit chilly outside.

One of the things the kids got from Jeff & I for Easter was a T-ball set. It has been very popular and I am looking forward to warm spring weather so it can move outside.

We hope you all had a wonderful Easter!

The Shout House

On Friday night Jeff & I went out with our friends Corey & Ana. We went to The Shout House which is a VERY fun piano bar. We sang along to lots of great songs (including Bon Jovi!) and had a terrific night out.

Good Friday

Jeff had the day off on Friday so we thought it would be fun to do something as a family. So we headed over the the U of M and went to the Bell Museum of Natural History. It was nice for the kids as there was a Touch and See room so they could do what kids do best...touch everything. They had all sorts of displays featuring birds, mammals & fish, it was kind of like a big taxidermy show.

Floor cleaning

I scrubbed our hardwood floor yesterday. This is such a rare occurrence that the kids camped out under the table to watch. They thought it was so fun to watch mommy scrub. I enjoyed myself too. (OK, that's a lie.)

Easter Eggs

The kids colored Easter eggs the other day. We did a marbled egg kit which makes the eggs look really cool when they're done, but having a 2 year old "roll" eggs between his hands doesn't always end with the greatest results. We only had 1 egg that was completely crushed, a few others with....dents.

A week at Grandma & Grandpa's house

We just got back from spending a week at my parents place. We all had a really nice time seeing everyone.
Here are Aidyn and McKayla...the best of friends and cousins!
Aidyn helped Grandma with the cooking...

While Nolan stayed out of mischief and read some books.

Here are my 2 sweeties just before we left in their new shirts Grandma & Grandpa gave them for Easter.

Thanks for everything G'ma & G'pa!
